well ......I'm going to stop apologising for not writing here as it obviously doesn't work, as I have let you down and not posted since my last apology!!!!
(sorry!)
All has been so so so busy here, printing for cinnamon girl, Xmas!, moving studio, bringing up the kids, big one is all teenagery, small one is only just realising he has to go to school every day and hes not that keen!
I'm hoping the studio move means I will soon be able to get a balance between my printing shop and my own art work but I still find it hard to find the time to do it all.
I have been given a couple of commissions that need tackling very soon!!! one is to produce a wall based piece of bird themed art for a group show where 100 women are going to make 3D birds to sell and raise money for women for women an amazing charity that helps women survivor of war to rebuild their lives. I'm thinking i might experiment with the ideas behind the moth dress and try to create a garment with bird flying out of it.
The other commission is a tattoo design! the commissioner really likes my bird lino cuts and would like a tattoo in that style! cool, but I need to find some time to sit down and do it ! cant wait to see my design on someones body!
OK so now you sort of know whats been happening with me I'm going to use this opportunity to shamelessly plug my other venture! I'm having a give away over on my other blog dedicated to cinnamon girl prints do go take a look and follow what I'm up to, all you need to do is leave me a comment to be in with a chance of winning one of my fabric storage containers, the more you link to my blog on twitter or face book etc and tell me about it the more times your name will go in the hat, Good luck xxxxx
Hey Jenny, welcome back.
ReplyDeleteNo need to apologise, sometimes life gets in the way of blogging and blogging can get in the way of life..............
Hope all is going well with your new store.
Funny story about the tattoo. I had a market stall yesterday and a girl wanted to take a snap of one of my designs- owl in a tree, nothing terribly exciting.
I wasn't sure what to say until she explained she wanted a tree tattoo just like my tree.....Taking the pic with her phone she could show the tattoo artist.
I happily said yes.
Best wishes for a creative 2011 and the idea of the moth dress becoming a bird dress sounds great.
Jenny-
ReplyDeletetotally know what you mean......I have been really late and slow in getting back to blogging too
but; congrats on your commissions and good luck with the printing
I loved your moth projects and am looking forward to see what you come up with for the bird project
your description reminded me of an image I saw; Sue Blackwell did an amazing installation for Jane Austin's museum - it was like a dress hanging up and somehow it looked like it was turning into butterflies flying away
ok, not a great description; but here is the website if you'd like to see:
