embroidered buttons

Ive been testing out some ideas, making buttons and small embroidered pictures for cards.
Unfortunately my sewing machine does not have the facility to do free embroidery so the sewing is a little jerky!
I'm scouring eBay and other sources for a new- meaning old but new to me machine that will give me more freedom.
